It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Carmen Ortega 93, on November 17, 2022, at her residence.
She was born in Wapao, Mexico to Gregorio Chavez and Estephania Zavala – Duran Chavez.
Carmen was very active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church; she took part in the Guadalupana’s. She loved to travel, she loved to play games and jokes. She loved to be surrounded by her family. She loved the outdoors, and all animals. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and loved ones.
Carmen is survived by her children Ysela Hergenrader and her husband Dana, Anita Ortega, Willie Ortega, Robert Ortega, and his wife Stephanie and daughter in law Connie Mata. Her grandchildren Dana Hergenrader and his wife Wendy, and David Hergenrader and his wife Shasta, April Ortega and her husband Brent Kass, Brandi Blair, Danielle Ortega, Angela Ortega, Sarah Beach, and her husband Mark, Renee Munoz and her husband Carlos, Suzette Williams, Nicole Burgin, Kristen Tibbs, Twenty -four Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 26, 2022 beginning at 10:30 am with a rosary and 11:00 am mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 705 Delaware, Alamogordo, NM; internment will follow immediately after.
