Robert Lee Waller, 81, of Las Cruces passed from this life on February 2, 2023, in Las Cruces, NM. Robert was born on December 4, 1941, in Mesa, AZ to Kenneth Leon Waller and Dorothy Lorene Stewart Waller.
Robert grew up in Las Cruces, NM and graduated from Las Cruces High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator across the northwest and southwest. Later in life, around 1970, he started his Pecan Farm in Las Cruces, NM and continued in the Pecan Farming business until he retired in 2015. Robert married Lila Duncan 1962 and had 3 children, Jeffrey Waller, Jason Waller, and Cheri Waller. Robert was an avid hiker, a rock and gem “hound” and collector. He also enjoyed country two-stepping.
Robert is survived by his son, Jason Waller of Las Cruces, NM and his daughter Cheri Waller of Three Forks, MT, one grandson Derek Spaulding (Amber) and 4 great-grand kids of Three Forks, MT. He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy Waller (Bonnie), Larry Waller (Merry), Mike Waller and his sisters Diane VanDoren (Bill) and Jodena Villalobos along with many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Robert was proceeded in death by his son, Jeffrey Waller, his father, Kenneth Waller, and his mother, Lorene Stewart Sanford.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 10:30 am at Getz Funeral Home. Reverend David Vistine will be officiating.
