Becky Caro Ruiz, Daughter of Susie and David Caro was born April 16, 1958 in Mesilla, New Mexico. She had an extraordinary passion for cosmetology and teaching. After earning her cosmetology license, she built a loyal clientele both in shop and at home. She then began her career as a Special Education teacher at Loma Heights Elementary School in Las Cruces. Becky found a truly unexplainable joy and purpose in this role, treating all her students as her own kids for over 26 years.
She was united in holy matrimony to Gilberto A. Ruiz on May 7, 1983. Together they were blessed with three compassionate children and two beautiful grandchildren. Family was of utmost importance to her, and she possessed all of the wonderful qualities that a child needs in a mother — patience, generosity, protection, love, care, and support. She created a unique relationship with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and always gave her time and attention to them before anything else.
Becky also had a massive love for dance, serving God, and spending quality time with her close friends and extended family. With a heart big enough to shape an entire community, she was loved and appreciated by many, and has left such a positive impact on everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. At the age of 64, Becky passed away in the early hours of February 24, 2023 at Mountainview Regional Hospital. She was surrounded by her family, and guided by angels as God called her home. She was preceded in death by her father, David P. Caro.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband: Gilberto A. Ruiz; three children: Gilbert L. Ruiz, Krystal A. Ruiz, Sabrina M. Ruiz; two grandchildren: Nevaeh Bustillos and Riley Garcia; mother: Susie Caro; three siblings: Yolanda Lopez and her husband Manuel Lopez, David Caro, and Ruben Caro and his wife Rose Caro; an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved and cherished dearly.
For those who would like to say their last goodbyes, Services will be held at Getz funeral home on March 9, 2023 from 5-7pm for public viewing followed by a rosary from 7-8pm. The funeral service mass will take place on March 10, 2023 at San Albino Church in Mesilla at 3pm
