Obituary for Patricia Ann Romero (Zapien)

Patricia Ann Romero (Zapien)
We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia Ann Romero, at the age of 70 on Monday, March 20, 2023. She passed away peacefully at Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loved ones.
Patricia worked hard all her life. When she no longer had a set work schedule her grandchildren became her job. Her car was referred to as “Granny’s Taxi” as she shuttled her grandchildren back and forth to school, activities, Starbucks, or as she would say a “guided tour”. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren listening to their laughter, games, or having staring contests with them. Our mother’s hobbies included crocheting baby blankets, going to the Casino, watching Novelas, and playing her games or coloring on her phone. She would go have adventures in Ruidoso, go to dr. appointments, or riding with the Bad Influence otherwise known as Stella Torres. Our mom had so much faith in praying the rosary daily and when she could no longer attend in person, she would watch mass on her phone.
Those left to mourn her passing include her daughters: Angela Romero and Trisha Romero, daughter of the heart Adela Pando, sons: Abrahan Romero, and Felipe Romero (Gabby) grandchildren: Matthew Romero, Mario De Paz, Maria Gualupe De Paz, Evan De Paz, Amanda Pando, Diego Romero, Kateri Arreola, Andrew Banderas Romero. Great grandchildren: Ayden Baeza, Jocelyn Romero, and Jackie Ortega; brothers Ronald “Ron” Zapien (Cheryl), Ernest Zapien (Loli), James Zapien, and Robert Zapien; sister Stella Jimenez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband David Romero, parents; Ernest and Herminia Zapien.
Visitation for Patricia will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Newman Center located at 2615 S. Solano Dr. Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be held after.
A public visitation will be held at St. Albert the Great Newman Center on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10:00 am followed by Rosary at 10:30 am and Mass at 11:00.
Pallbearers: Matthew Romero, Ronald “Ron” Zapien, Ben Zapien, Andy Zapien, David Gonzalez, Angel Torres
