Agapita F. (Aggie) Santistevan 89 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Monday, October 3, 2005 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She was born in Moses, NM on March 24, 1916 to Lucia and Santiago Fernandez. She married Joe Santistevan and had two children Apolonio and Flora. Aggie and Joe moved to Clayton, NM where they lived until Joe's death in 1959. She then moved to Albuquerque with her son, and then came to Las Cruces in 1962 to be with her daughter where she lived, worked, and made many friends. She was a foster grandparent with the public schools, was a valued employee at the Palms Best Western and was a sorority housemother at NMSU. Recently she lived at the community of Montana Meadows where she had many friends. Aggie is survived by her son, Apolonio Santistevan and his wife Terry of Denver, CO; one daughter Flora Trujillo and her husband Tony of Las Cruces, NM, and one sister, Julia Cordova of Albuquerque, NM. Six grandchildren, David Santistevan, John Santistevan, Joe Santistevan all of Denver, CO; Elizabeth Trujillo of Las Cruces, NM; Gerald Trujillo and wife Kim of Las Vegas, NV; and Anthony Trujillo and wife Jean of San Antonio, TX. 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special family of in-laws. Aggie was preceded in death by her parents, Lucia and Santiago Fernandez, her husband Joe Fructoso Santistevan, a sister Ramoncita Craine, two brothers, Ralph Fernandez and Joe Fernandez and a grandson Richard M. Trujillo. A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 from 4-7 PM at Getz Funeral Home where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 9 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda, with Fr. Ricardo Bauza officiating. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Tony Cordova, Michael Cordova, Robert Gonzales, Anthony Trujillo, Steven Trujillo, and Michael Trujillo.
