Anna V. Hankerd, 93 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. Anna was born January 13, 1912 in Bunker Hill, Michigan to Anthony and Elizabeth Lienhart. Anna V. Hankerd, 93 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. Anna was born January 13, 1912 in Bunker Hill, Michigan to Anthony and Elizabeth Lienhart. A resident of Las Cruces for about the last 20 years, she was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and volunteered herself to the community. She enjoyed needlework, china painting and playing cards, in which she was a member of several card groups. Anna placed her family first. Her family was the center of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Anna is survived by two sons, Robert Hankerd and his wife Mary of Gilbert, Arizona; and Patrick Hankerd and his wife Mary of Port Charlotte, Florida. Two daughters Betty Tomei of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Mary Guzak and her husband David of Flushing, Michigan. One sister Wilma Heath of St. Petersburg, Florida, 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren also survive Anna. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leo Hankerd, two grandchildren, Damien Guzak and Theodore Hankerd , a son in law, Lester Tomei and eight siblings. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda, Las Cruces, NM. Officiating will be Msgr. John Anderson. At her request cremation will take place and burial of her ashes will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Flint Michigan.
