He was raised in Alamogordo, NM by parents Albert and Lita Vizcarra. Al was a long time resident of Las Cruces and a proud graduate of NMSU. Albert Diaz Vizcarra beloved son, brother, and father passed away on August 13, 2022. Al was born February 24, 1945 in Deming, New Mexico. He was raised in Alamogordo, NM by parents Albert and Lita Vizcarra. Al was a long time resident of Las Cruces and a proud graduate of NMSU. His career as a social worker in both Arizona and New Mexico brought numerous awards for programs he helped children in public housing. He ran an anti-smoking campaign in Las Cruces that was nationally recognized in Washington D.C. Al was also honored as social worker of the year from HUD and received multiple national and community awards. He was always excited to share his passion for politics, sports, and his family. Al was always ready to help others in need and a true ally of the underdog. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by son Jacob Vizcarra (Karina), daughter Schuyler Vizcarra, and sisters Margarita Fate (Roger) and Mary Ann Montes (Mike). Private family service will be held at a later date.
