Albert "Beto" Gutierrez, an extraordinary husband, father, son and deeply loved brother and brother in law passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center after going through an unexpected illness. He was 52. He was born on April 9, 1957 in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico and was a diesel mechanic at TA for over 31 years. "Beto's" impact on his family and friends can only be measured by his long lasting memories that he leaves behind, and whose lives were touched by his shy smile, his unmatched energy, love, and his relentless sense of humor. "Beto" made every single person, especially his family, feel that he had all the time in the world for them, their lives and their stories. Many friends and family can attest that "Beto" was a mentor, a guide, and a father figure to them. "Beto's" greatest joy was being with the loves of his life, his wife Mary, daughters Lisa and Yaraldi, and granddaughters Jocelyn and Anahi. "Even though the parting may have been sad, and we may feel abandoned, let's be happy that his is JUST GOING HOME." His memory is a blessing to us all. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 31 years, his daughters Lisa and companion Eric Padilla, Yaraldi; his granddaughters Jocelyn and Anahi; his parents Lorenzo and Angela Perez; his sisters Rosa Luna (Bernardo) of Juarez, Carmen Heredia (Santiago) also of Juarez, Maria Cervantes (Faustino), Patricia Hernandez, Leticia Delgado (Martin Garcia) all of Las Cruces, his brother and sisters in law, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many special godchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Perez and father in law, Ascencion Rodriguez. A visitation will be held from 5 to7 pm on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Service will follow at 7 pm. The funeral Mass will be given at 10 am on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Celebrating the mass will be Fr. Rene Espejel. Pallbearers will be Omar Lopez, Jesus Arellano, Anthony and James Wood, Carlos Hernandez, and Lupito Reyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Padilla, and Scotty Noble. PDF Printable Version
