Albert J. "Bert" LaDriere Jr. 89, of Las Cruces died Sunday, February 24, 2008. He was born December 8, 1918 in El Paso, TX to A.J. and Jettie Edward LaDriere. Bert was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably during WW II. Bert was widely known as the owner and operator of Desert Electric where he served the Mesilla Valley faithfully for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, a member of the Elks Lodge and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. Bert is survived by his three children Albert LaDriere III and wife Jeannie of Dallas, TX, Dennis LaDriere and wife Darlene of Las Cruces and Sharon LaDriere of Sedona, AZ; grandchildren Josh, Matt, Brando, Chris, Dani and Dori. Also surviving Bert are several great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Flois, and grandson Jerry Nichols. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 10:00 AM on Saturday March 1, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home with Rev.
