Albert L. Banegas, Sr., of Las Cruces entered eternal life Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Mountain View Regional Hospital surrounded by family. He was born October 8, 1937 in Las Cruces to Diego and Enriqueta Banegas. He retired after 27 years of service with the City of Las Cruces, 25 of those years as a Las Cruces Firefighter. Albert L. Banegas, Sr., of Las Cruces entered eternal life Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Mountain View Regional Hospital surrounded by family. He was born October 8, 1937 in Las Cruces to Diego and Enriqueta Banegas. He retired after 27 years of service with the City of Las Cruces, 25 of those years as a Las Cruces Firefighter. He's a member of the San Ysidro Catholic Church. Albert enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with family & friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Olga T. Banegas; son, Albert L. Banegas, Jr, and wife, Beatrice and grandson Justin Matthew; son, Diego Banegas, and wife, Denise and grandsons Robert Padilla, Anthony Padilla; granddaughter, Samantha Padilla; daughter, Cathy Duran, and grandson Joshua Anthony. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden, Gabriel and Erick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Diego & Enriqueta Banegas and brother, Diego Banegas. Visitation for Mr. Banegas will be held Sunday, November 4th, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Getz Funeral Home Chapel, 1410 E. Bowman Ave., Las Cruces, NM. A prayer vigil will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5th at the Our Lady of purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana, NM, with the Fr.
