Albert P. Caporoz, 75 of Las Cruces, NM died Friday February 26, 2010 at his home. He was born April 11, 1934 in Kohala, HI to Rufino and Cozy Soto Caporoz. Albert served his Country in the United States Army where he served in Canton, and Guame, before being honorably discharged. He was very proud of his Hawaiian heritage and customs. Albert P. Caporoz, 75 of Las Cruces, NM died Friday February 26, 2010 at his home. He was born April 11, 1934 in Kohala, HI to Rufino and Cozy Soto Caporoz. Albert served his Country in the United States Army where he served in Canton, and Guame, before being honorably discharged. He was very proud of his Hawaiian heritage and customs. In 1974 Albert moved to Las Cruces with his wife Helen. He worked as an Electrician for the City of Las Cruces for many years before retiring. He will be deeply missed by all he touched. He is survived by his wife Helen Caporoz of the family home; son, Eric Luna; Step-children, Debra Martinez and Jonny Nevarez both of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Gina Gonzales and husband JP and their children James, Jake, and Myranda, Elayna Martinez, Thomas Ray Martinez, and Jassim and Laila Nevarez. He is also survived by sister, Josephine Calathe; brothers, Barney and Domingo Caparoz all of Hawaii, and Henry Caparoz of Las Cruces, NM, and by many nieces nephews and other family and friends. Albert is preceded in death by his stepson Raymond Nevarez, and sisterRamona Vega. A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM Thursday March 4, 2010 at the St. Genevieve's Catholic Church.
