Alejandro Martinez, 82 of Hatch, NM died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Alejandro was born March 13, 1927 in Hurley, New Mexico to Librado and Epifania Martinez. He retired after many years with Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad as a Track Supervisor and was also a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 year...
Alejandro Martinez, 82 of Hatch, NM died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Alejandro was born March 13, 1927 in Hurley, New Mexico to Librado and Epifania Martinez. He retired after many years with Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad as a Track Supervisor and was also a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Juanita of the family home; sons, Alejandro Martinez Jr (Gloria); Eddie Martinez (Gabriela); Raymond Martinez (Maria Monjaras); and Martin Martinez (Frances), four daughters, Estella Ramirez (Sabino); Ramona Alvidrez (Casimiro); Merly Martinez; and Margie Bouvet (Johnny). Also surviving is Debbie Martinez; four brothers, Gilberto Martinez; Salvador Martinez; Lupe Martinez, and Tony Martinez. One sister, Esther Naranjo; 27 grandchildren, 53 great grand children and ten great great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Amelia Gutierrez and Cecilia Candelaria. The Prayer Vigil will be at 7:30 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch. The Funeral Mass will be at 2 pm on Friday, July 3, 2009 also at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch. Officiating will be Fr. Ray Flores. Serving, as pallbearers will be Jeremy Bouvet, Jonathan Bouvet, Mike Castillo, Martin Martinez, Michael Ramirez, Sabino Ramirez Jr., and Eddie Martinez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Martinez, Sabino Ramirez, Alex Martinez III, and Lee Martinez.
