Alex Mendoza Sr. 90, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. He was born Feb. 28, 1914 in Las Cruces to Juan and Josefa Mendoza. Alex was the owner-operator of Alex Mendoza Plastering and Tile Setting. He loved woodworking and over the years made many beautiful things. Alex Mendoza Sr. 90, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. He was born Feb. 28, 1914 in Las Cruces to Juan and Josefa Mendoza. Alex was the owner-operator of Alex Mendoza Plastering and Tile Setting. He loved woodworking and over the years made many beautiful things. Mr. Mendoza will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children Rudy Mendoza, George Mendoza, Alex Mendoza Jr. and wife Luz, Benny Mendoza and wife Elaine, Elmo Mendoza and wife Shelly, Gilbert Mendoza and wife Gloria and Doretta Garcia and husband James; brothers Johnny and Baltazar Mendoza; sisters Carmen Rivas and Vina Saavedra. His 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Alex was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. A prayer vigil will be recited at 6:30 pm on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. A funeral mass for Alex is at 10:30 am Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 also at Holy Cross with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Francis Garden Columbarium. In lieu of flowers the family requests the offering of a mass for Alex Sr. PDF Printable Version
