Alice Cooper 64 of Las Cruces died Friday July 3, 2009 with her loving husband Larry Cooper by her side. She was born on January 29, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida to Samuel and Helen Nelson. Alice loved doing gourmet cooking and baking. She won many awards at the Southern New Mexico State Fair for her baking. She also enjoyed doing cross-stitching and canning fruits, vegetables and jellies. Alice was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Larry Cooper of Las Cruces, NM, father Samuel Nelson of Las Cruces, NM, stepson, Steven Cooper of Las Cruces, NM, stepdaughter Debra and Tom Brooks of Carter Lake, IW, brother Samuel Nelson of Glendale, MD, and sister Lisa and David Gilman of Rutland, VT. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Nelson. A memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will be Held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 13, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church 200 E.
