Amezquita and Mercedes Chavez Amezquita-Benavidez. After attending Las Cruces Union High School, Alicia married her late husband, Luis Salazar Rios, with whom she settled down in Las Cruces to raise a family. Alicia was practically a lifelong and loving volunteer at The Munson Senior Center where she could always be seen helping out with the every-day activities, and comforting and encouraging those who needed a friend
