Allie Rae Gessell, 85 of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday July 30, 2011. She was born on March 13, 1926 to Robert and Myrtle Mullins in Cooke County, TX. She worked at Civil Service at Ft. Allie Rae Gessell, 85 of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday July 30, 2011. She was born on March 13, 1926 to Robert and Myrtle Mullins in Cooke County, TX. She worked at Civil Service at Ft. Bliss prior to her life in Las Cruces. Allie Rae was a member of First Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school classes until she was 84 years old. She enjoyed cooking big family diners, but her passion and life's purpose was for children and telling them about Jesus. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons Jerry Miller and wife Shirley of Hendersonville, TN and William Miller and wife Wendy of Paul's Valley, OK; daughter Sue Miller of Las Cruces and by her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gessell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years Earl Gessell, her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth officiating.
