Amalia O. Ruiz, 86, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday August 2, 2006. She was born November 21, 1919 in Mesilla, NM to Sisto and Adelina Ogaz. Amalia had been a sales associate for J.C, Penny's for over 36 years, where she was fondly known as "Molly J.C. Penny". Amalia O. Ruiz, 86, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday August 2, 2006. She was born November 21, 1919 in Mesilla, NM to Sisto and Adelina Ogaz. Amalia had been a sales associate for J.C, Penny's for over 36 years, where she was fondly known as "Molly J.C. Penny". Molly was a faithful member of San Albino Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Sewing Club and the Recreativo. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. Molly is survived by her four daughters Carmen and husband David Serna, Enedina and husband Jose "Kiki" Flores, Dahlia and husband Richard Gil all of Las Cruces and Mercy Arellano of Albuquerque, NM; She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, niece Lupe and nephew Henry. Her loving husband Dave G. Ruiz, sister Louise Sanchez and brothers Nacho and Henry Ogaz, preceded her in death. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, August 7, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass is at 9:00 AM on Tuesday August 8, 2006 at San Albino Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at San Albino Catholic Cemetery.
