Our dear beloved Andrea Ann Almanzar "Annie," age 43, has passed into our Lord's kingdom on March 5, 2010 from her home. She was surrounded with her family and is at peace now. She is the daughter of Juliet Almanzar and "Pops Carl"; Chris Almanzar and "Mama Patsy". Annie was the granddaughter to Dora and Jesus Sambrano, and Gilbert and Guadelupe "Marty" Almanzar. Annie has four brothers and four sisters-in-law: Eddie and Marie; Chris and Dora; Reuben and Vanessa; and Danny and Melissa "Miss". She had a beautiful relationship with both Dawn and Pam. They were always there for her. Annie was born on July 1, 1966 in Las Cruces, NM. She was a very proud and devoted mom of her seventeen year old son Cody James Diaz. He was her pride and joy, and wanted only the best for him. She loved her son and cherished every minute, as she knew the hourglass was coming to the end. Annie was a loving aunt to Ryan, Rachel, Camille, Alex, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Gabriel, Roman, and Aiden. Annie was also a loving cousin to Yvette, Shirley "Feenie", Silvia, Cassandra, Sophia, Anthony, Benjamin, Julian, Veronica, Gabriel, Romo, Adam, and Matthew. She will be missed by her wonderful and loving Aunts, Irene and Elizabeth and her Uncles Ronnie and Sammy. Annie was Godmother to Brittany Renae "Buggy." She leaves behind many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Throughout her life she battled Lupus and numerous complications there from. Annie was a true champion and held her own with strength and determination. She was an inspiration to us all and led a full life by her own rules. She didn't want to watch the parade go by; she wanted to lead the parade. She treasured every moment with her family and relished in the family gatherings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends telling stories and laughing. Annie had a hand in raising and helping all of us. She touched each child with her blessings and she held each of us in our times of need. Annie loved the children and kept them all close to her heart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Andrea's name, to the Lupus Foundation of America at P.O. Box 631047 Baltimore, MD 21263-1047, or a charity of choice. At her request, cremation and inurnment of cremations will take place. A rosary and prayer vigil will be held at Getz Funeral Home, on the corner of Solano and Bowman Avenue, Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 2pm. PDF Printable Version
