Andrew "Andy" G. Armendariz, 54, of Las Cruces, NM passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1954 in Deming, NM to Victor and Jean Armendariz. He was a Building and Bridges Foreman with the Union Pacific Railroad, a member of the Catholic Church, dedicated father, husband, family man, friend, and sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and working on projects at home or with family and friends. First and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his granddaughter Emma Enoch whom he adored. He is survived by his wife Rosie of Las Cruces; one son, Andrew Armendariz of Las Cruces; two daughters, Crystal Enoch and husband Trevor of Las Cruces and Sandra Harris and husband Richard of Hillsboro, NM. His mother Jean Armendariz of Las Cruces, NM. Four brothers, Victor Armendariz and wife Griselda of Chicago, Illinois; John Torres and wife Gilma of Honduras; Michael Armendariz and wife Krystal of Las Cruces and Mark Armendariz and wife Corey of Las Cruces, NM. Three sisters, Sylvia Ruiz of Las Cruces; Gina Polanco and husband David of Las Cruces and Barbara Gates and husband Geoff of Santa Fe, NM Also surviving Andy are three grandchildren Emma Enoch, Felicia Harris and Joseph Harris. He was preceded in death by his father Victor Armendariz, son, Victor-Andrew Armendariz and a brother in law, Ronald Ruiz. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 am on Thursday May 28, 2009 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Deming, NM. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Josh Duplissey. Serving, as pallbearers will be Jerry Acosta, Joseph "Joey" Marrufo, Carlo Molina, Jamie Marrufo, Robert Molina, and Mike Root. PDF Printable Version
