Andrew Jackson "Jack" Green, 89, of Salem. NM went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 23, 2005. Jack was born Aug. 22, 1915 in Corsicana, Texas to James Henry and Amanda Eola Cornett Green both of whom preceded him in death. Jack was a veteran of the US Army and he served his country proudly and honorably for the duration of world war two as a non commissioned officer. Jack was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and American Defense Medal. Jack was a member of the Hatch Church of Christ. Jack had a love for the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, and to work in his garden. He also loved playing his fiddle, talking to people but most of all spending time with all his family, friends and neighbors who knew and loved him. Jack is survived by Opal his wife of 57 years, their son Ron Green and wife Amie of Roswell, New Mexico; granddaughter Stacie Boswell and husband Sid of Blacksburg, Virginia; Grandson Bryce of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by son Tom Green; grandson Aaron and granddaughter Ruth Ann all of Corpus Christi, Texas. Jack is survived by one brother Delbert Green of California. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his daughter Opal Olie Darlene Green. Jack was also preceded in death by one sister Myrtle Ruff, and four brothers, George, Jeff, Thirine and Sam Green. Services will be held at 1O:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the Church of Christ in Hatch, NM with Rev. Jim Wood officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. TX at 2:00 PM also on Tuesday PDF Printable Version
