Andrew Martin Yasinski (Andy), 59, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Andy was born in Hanover, New Hampshire on July 12, 1949, but was a native Vermonter. Andy earned his Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in 1971 and his Masters in Hospital Administration from Duke University in 1973. He pursued a career in hospital administration for more than 20 years working in healthcare institutions in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Vermont and New Mexico. Andy and his family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1985 and after he retired from hospital administration, Andy earned a Masters in Education from New Mexico State University and spent many years as a devoted teacher to special education children and at risk youth. He loved New Mexico wildlife and enjoyed many days hunting ducks, but he also loved his trips back east to enjoy beautiful New England. He was an avid collector and accomplished gardener. He attended Fairacres Baptist Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico and greatly loved the congregation. Andy is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Yasinski, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his daughter Stephanie LeBlanc and husband Jason of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his son Bill Yasinski and wife Jennifer of Houston Texas; mother Pauline Yasinski of Norwich, Vermont; brother Arnie Yasinski and wife Adele of Providence, Rhode Island; brother Jim Yasinski and wife Kyle of Plymouth, Massachusetts; sister Cindy Tenner and husband Jim of Concord, Massachusetts; along with grandchildren Jackson and Emerson LeBlanc and Evyn, Reed, and Taylor Yasinski, all of whom brought him great joy. A memorial service will be held in Norwich, Vermont on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Norwich Congregational Church, UCC. A graveside service will then take place at 2:00 p.m. in Fair Haven, Vermont at Cedar Grove Cemetery. A service to celebrate Andy's life will be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico at a future date that has yet to be determined. Donations in memory of Andy can be made to the charity of your choice.
