Our beautiful Mother, Grandmother and GG, Anita Z Duran, 74, of Las Cruces, New Mexico was called home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 17, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike L. Duran, mother, In-Laws, brothers, sisters, nephews, and great-grandson. She is survived by sisters, Martha Navarro-Martinez, Georgeanne (Jenaro) Carrillo, Terry Herrera-Arvizu; brothers, Felix (Rebecca) Herrera, and Ronnie (Genevieve) Zertuche; son, Michael (Sandy) Duran; daughter, Christine Duran; sons, Raymond Duran and Joshua (Sarah) Duran; grandchildren, Michael Duran, Brittany (Aaron) Carbajal, Jasmine Duran, Isaiah Lopez, Bourbondy Lopez, Serina Lopez, and baby Duran; great-grandchildren; Josiah Duran, Zoe Duran, Jaiden Duran-Vasquez, Aaron Carbajal, Cameron Carbajal, and Rose Duran; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Anita was an amazing person who enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed having gatherings at her home surrounded by loved ones and who she was very proud of. Anita enjoyed preparing meals such as macaroni and cheese, tamales, menudo and biscochitos. A favorite hobby of baking wedding and birthday cakes. Listening to music, dancing, and attending concerts; especially George Strait's. She liked volunteering at St. Genevieve's Church. Anita worked at Sara Lee plant in Mesilla Park, NM for over 25 years as a payroll clerk, then retired from El paso electric. We will miss her dearly and cherish memories of her!! Viewing at Getz Funeral on March 31, 2023 at 5pm followed by Rosary 6pm. Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Genevieve's Church at 11am, interment at St Joseph's. Reception followed at Our Lady of Health. Pallbearers will be Willie Duran, Ronnie Zertuche, Lucas Zertuche, Benny Ontiveros, Anthony Duran, and Isaiah Lopez.
