Antonio B. Armendariz Sr. 86 of Las Cruces died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. He was born June 13, 1920 in Julimas, Mexico. Antonio was a resident of the Mesilla Valley for most of his life. He was a very loving person who enjoyed the outdoors where he did his farming, gardening and fishing, he loved dancing, but his passion was going to Las Vegas. Antonio B. Armendariz Sr. 86 of Las Cruces died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. He was born June 13, 1920 in Julimas, Mexico. Antonio was a resident of the Mesilla Valley for most of his life. He was a very loving person who enjoyed the outdoors where he did his farming, gardening and fishing, he loved dancing, but his passion was going to Las Vegas. Mr. Armendariz will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons Eduardo and wife Linda of Del Cerro, NM, Antonio Jr. and wife Socorro of Las Cruces and Oscar and wife Rosa of Arizona; daughters Josie Gomez and husband Pat, Yolanda Monge and husband Rafael, Socorro Loya and husband Alfonso, Rosa Almaguer and husband David and Patricia Prieto and husband Jose all of Las Cruces. 15grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Antonio was preceded in death by his loving wife Jesusita and by his brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday Oct. 24, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass is at 9:00 AM on Wednesday Oct. 25, 2006 at San Albino Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at the San Albino Catholic Cemetery.
