Antonio "Tony" B. Rivera, 93, of Las Cruces died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007. He was born Sept. 25, 1913 in Silver City, NM to Vicente and Librada Barela Rivera. Antonio "Tony" B. Rivera, 93, of Las Cruces died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007. He was born Sept. 25, 1913 in Silver City, NM to Vicente and Librada Barela Rivera. Tony was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service of his country he was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marvella Rivera of the family home; sons Vincent Rivera and wife Gina of Las Cruces and David Rivera of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter Toni Rush and husband John of Carlsbad, CA; Sister Susie Senke of Las Cruces. Tony is also is survived by 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be given at 10:00 AM Monday Jan 29, 2007 at the Newman Center. Officiating will be Fr. Mitch Dowalgo. Private family burial of cremains will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
