On Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 Our Lord called home, Antonio "Tony" M. Guzman, 80 lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley. He was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Las Cruces to Vicente and Isabella Padilla Guzman. On Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 Our Lord called home, Antonio "Tony" M. Guzman, 80 lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley. He was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Las Cruces to Vicente and Isabella Padilla Guzman. Tony was well known as a master upholsterer where he served the community for many faithful years. His hobby was to make and fly model airplanes. He had a love for music and playing his keyboard and going to the Munson Center and the Eastside Center to play pool with his friends, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Sonia Guzman of the family home; son Mark Anthony Guzman of Las Cruces; daughters Maria Diaz and husband Porfirio of Rio Rancho, NM, Rosanna Valdez and husband Pat of Virginia, Sonia Paelinck and husband Charles of Henderson, NV, Irasema Guzman, Alma Wyman and husband Richard and Connie Barrio and husband Alfred all of Las Cruces; brothers Vicente Guzman and wife Rosalie of El Paso, TX and Alfonso Guzman and wife Nena of Las Cruces. Also surviving Tony are his grandchildren Kristina, Antonio, Alfredo, Carlos, Jimena, Faviola, Esteban, Santiago and Patricia and by his great-granddaughter Trisha. His brother Joe Guzman preceded Tony in death. Graveside Services to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard, Antonio, Alfred, Mark, Porfirio, Charley and Alfredo. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission 1050 W.
