Antonio (Tony) Cardon 81 years old passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2024 in Las Cruces New Mexico. Tony was born May 2, 1942 in Dona Ana, New Mexico to Antonio G. Cardon and Simona Cardon, Tony had 3 brothers, Ramon Cardon, Freddy Gomez and Emilio Cardon, 4 sisters, Teresa Medina, Georgia (Mickey) Hernandez, Priscilla Garcia and Romelia Tome.

Antonio (Tony) Cardon 81 years old passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2024 in Las Cruces New Mexico. Tony was born May 2, 1942 in Dona Ana, New Mexico to Antonio G. Cardon and Simona Cardon, Tony had 3 brothers, Ramon Cardon, Freddy Gomez and Emilio Cardon, 4 sisters, Teresa Medina, Georgia (Mickey) Hernandez, Priscilla Garcia and Romelia Tome.
Tony joined the United States Army in 1959. He served in Vietnam as Green Beret and 1st Bn 327th Infantry Cobra Company
101st Airborne Division Sergeant. He then worked as a coal miner in Virginia where he lived for many years. He was an avid bingo player, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3242 and American Legion Post 10. Tony was a very proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family and pets meant everything to him.
Tony is survived by his wife, Patricia Cardon of Dona Ana, NM, his daughter, Terry Cardon of Norton, VA Daughter, Rebecca Waddell of GA Son, Billy Cardon and wife Margret of Norton, VA Son, Steven Riddel of FL Daughter, Tonya Ohannasian and husband Allan of MI, Daughter, Leslie Riddel Conley and husband Tim of CO, 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, his 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Tony’s services will be held at Getz Funeral Home on January 17, 2024 with visitation starting at 10:00 am. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am with burial to follow at Dona Ana Cemetery at 1:00pm.
