Archie M. Chambless, 86, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, June 2, 2005. He was born Jan. 15, 1919 in DeAnn, Arkansas to Samuel and Alma Carrie Chambless. Archie was the Manager and the Projectionist of the Rio Grande Theater. He also had a passion for horse racing and being in the outdoors working in his garden. Archie M. Chambless, 86, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, June 2, 2005. He was born Jan. 15, 1919 in DeAnn, Arkansas to Samuel and Alma Carrie Chambless. Archie was the Manager and the Projectionist of the Rio Grande Theater. He also had a passion for horse racing and being in the outdoors working in his garden. Mr. Chambless will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him He is survived by his son Dennis Richards of Las Cruces; daughter Janet Lawrence and husband Gary of Mesilla Park, NM; grandchildren Justin, Bryan and Rusty; great-grandchildren Rebekka, Samantha, Brittany, Kyle and Glenn; brother C.B. Chambless and wife Jo of Kansas City, MO. Archie was preceded in death by his wife Fay; grandson Cody and by his brothers and sisters. Funeral Services are at 9:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home with Dr. Alan Granger officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
