Arthur Martin Saye

August 23, 1919 — April 30, 2009

Arthur Martin Saye entered into rest on April 30, 2009. He was born August 23, 1919 in Iowa Park, Texas to his parents John William Saye and Lillie Belle Martin of Savory, Texas. Art was the youngest of 9 children. He served his country honorably during World War II as a medic in the Navy. After the war, Art was employed by Humble Oil and Refining Company. His 22-year job career with Humble encompassed site selection and station development for North and West Texas and New Mexico. Las Cruces, New Mexico became Art's home upon being awarded the Humble Oil and Refining Company Distributorship for Dona Ana County. In 1970, after retiring from his Exxon distributorship Art started Saye Distributing, which was a commercial laundry vending business that served the state of New Mexico. Art is survived by his daughter Mrs. J. Patrick (Artie) Quirk and her husband J. Patrick Quirk and two granddaughters Miss Margaret Ann Quirk and Miss Milissa J. Quirk DVM all of San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Saye was preceded in death by his loving wife Bettye Ann Saye. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 10:30 am on Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Whitley officiating. Art will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Bettye Ann at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E.
