Aurea E. Allen entered eternal life on Saturday, December 21, 2013, and will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and acquaintances. Born on November 15, 1945, to Maria Monserrate Guzman and Miguel Vega in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Aurea met and married Bruce D. Aurea E. Allen entered eternal life on Saturday, December 21, 2013, and will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and acquaintances. Born on November 15, 1945, to Maria Monserrate Guzman and Miguel Vega in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Aurea met and married Bruce D. Allen while they were both stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi. They moved to New Mexico to make their home and have lived in Las Cruces since 1979. Aurea served our country in the USAF Reserves as a jet engine mechanic and radio operator and was an honor graduate in all her Air Force Training. She was an NMSU Crimson Scholar graduate in 1986 with a Business Degree. She retired from White Sands Missile Range as a Security Specialist. Her passions included camping in the New Mexico countryside, gardening, her animals, and collecting antiques, artifacts and marbles. Aurea went all out in all of her endeavors. Aurea is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bruce of Las Cruces; her daughter Donnamarie DeGenova (and husband, Joseph) and grandchildren Julianna Marie and Louis Phillip DeGenova of New Jersey; her sister-in-law Suzette Goodwin and family of Las Cruces; and additional family in both New Jersey and New Mexico. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Morning Star United Methodist Church, 2941 Morning Star Drive, LC, NM 88011, on Saturday, January 18, at 2:00 pm.
