Barbara karen Rodriguez was born on Sept 11, 1961 at the US Naval Hospital in Camp LeJeune, NC and left us suddenly on Oct 10, 2022. She was an Excel student at Las Cruces High School, working at Citizens Bank during her senior year. She was hired at the Bank immediately after graduation. Barb worked there for 43 years, and during that time, she filled various positions throughout the Bank. She will be missed terribly by her many close friends at the Bank as well as her long-term customers who thought the world of her. She often stated how she loved her job of helping people. Barbara was an avid Birder. She could immediately identify a bird by a brief glance or a distant sound. It was a respite for her to visit, photograph, and enjoy birds and nature and the landscape of New Mexico. She captured the world like none other with her camera and was in awe of the beauty this world possesses. Barbara valued her friends, being loyal and faithful, enjoying the laughs and orneriness with them during a visit or over a meal. She spent her vacations usually with family, developing loving relationships with them all over the years. Barbara was clever, witty, warm, independent, adventurous, strong and brave. She laughed with her eyes just like her mother and Grandmother. She spoke her mind and walked her values. The suddenness of this loss is tempered by the sweet and loving memories of her giving heart in so many ways over the years. She loved well and was well loved. Barbara is survived by her Mother, Lenore Karen Rodriguez, her Brother, Michael Rodriguez, both of Las Cruces, New Mexico and her sister, Kathleen Mathews, of Rosarita, Mexico, as well as her Aunts and Uncles, Judy and Gene Ballinger, Sandra Rabern, Diane and Rob McDaniel, Frank and Angela Carter, Nick and Debbie Carter, Josie Rodriguez and many precious cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Ramon Rodriguez, her Maternal Grandmother and Marshall Lynch. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel.
