Bernardo Soto Soto, 79 , of Las Cruces passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home He was born September 5, 1933 in Villa Ocampo Durango, MX to Jesus Soto and Manuela Soto Bernardo married Leonarda Soto January 21, 1958 and was a farm worker for many years until retirement. He loved to play the armonica to his family in their birthdays, like to play pool and dominos, but the most he loved was to be at home watering his garden and feeding the birds. He loved to tell his life stories to his grandchildren and friends. Bernardo is survived by his wife Leonarda Soto from Las Cruces NM; his children: Eligio Soto and Spouse Patricia Soto from Las Cruces NM, Maria De Jesus Vaquera and Spouse Jesus Vaquera from Cd Juarez, Chihuahua, Lorenzo Soto and Spouse Leticia Soto from Las Cruces, Sanjuana Soto and Spouse Eduardo Corchado from Las Cruces, NM, Miriam Soto and Spouse Jorge Flores, and his Brothers and Sisters: Espiridion Soto, Eleuterio Soto, Lucia Soto, Soledad Soto, and Guadalupe Armendariz. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces. Bernardo was preceded in death by his daughter Felipa Soto April 9th 2013. Serving as casket bearers, Eligio Soto, Lorenzo Soto, Jesus Vaquera, Eduardo Corchado, Eduardo Vaquera, Cruz Holguin. Visitation for Bernardo will be Monday June 17, 2013 at Getz Funeral Home from 6-7 pm, where a prayer vigil will follow at 7pm, funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday June 18, 2013 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
