Blanca R. Lujan, 73 went home to the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Casa de Oro Nursing Home. She was born to Frank Z. and Vina Romero on May 18, 1940 in Las Cruces, NM. Blanca married Johnny G. Lujan on December 28, 1961. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and at the time of her death, was anticipating becoming a great grandmother. For many years, she was a bus driver for Dona Ana Elementary School. With great perseverance, she got her cosmetology license then continued her education to become an Instructor of Cosmetology at the Dona Ana Beauty College. She was an avid quilter, belonged to several Quilting Bees and was a member of Las Colcheras Quilting Guild. When she was not quilting she enjoyed reading, completing seek and find word puzzles, watching westerns, mysteries, Disney movies, and her favorite show, NCIS. Blanca was an awesome cook and was best known for her green enchiladas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny and both her parents. Those left to mourn her absence are her daughters Nadine Rosales (Alex) from Los Angeles, CA and Elizabeth Vina "Boo Boo" Lujan from Dona Ana, New Mexico. Two Grandsons, George Rosales (Perla) and Jason Rosales (Christina) both from Los Angeles, CA. A sister, Carla Balizan (Albert) from Dona Ana, New Mexico and a First cousin, who was like a sister to her, Josie Madrid (Elias) from Dona Ana, New Mexico. Other survivors include many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and many good friends. A celebration will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at El Calvario United Methodist Church, 300 N. Campo St. with Reverend Del Valle officiating. As per her request, cremation will take place. Her cremains will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas on Monday, September 23 at 10:30 am.
