Blanca S. Armijo, 81, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. She was born May 27, 1927 in Berino, NM to Victorio and Rosalia Martinez Sanchez. She had been a member of the Catholic Community all of her life. Blanca enjoyed sewing, crocheting, family get-togethers and cooking. Blanca S. Armijo, 81, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. She was born May 27, 1927 in Berino, NM to Victorio and Rosalia Martinez Sanchez. She had been a member of the Catholic Community all of her life. Blanca enjoyed sewing, crocheting, family get-togethers and cooking. She was a very happy person who always had a smile for everyone, but her passion was for her family. Mrs. Armijo will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her one son Lovis S. Armijo of Brazito, NM; two daughters Margaret A. Avalos and husband Ernie of El Paso, TX and Christine Quintana and husband Ron of Las Cruces; brother Valo Sanchez and wife Daisy of Las Cruces; sisters Mona Morales and husband Clemente of Dona Ana, NM, Ricarda Sanchez of Las Cruces and Rita Aguirre of Union City, CA. Blanca is also survived by her 13 wonderful grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her loving husband Reymundo A. Armijo and her son Reymundo S. Armijo. A visitation was held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil followed at 7:00 PM.
