Blas L. Molina Jr., 88, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. NM. He was born March 13, 1920 in Las Cruces to Blas and Antonia Lujan Molina. Blas was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II as a Tech. Sgt. He also retired after many years of faithful service from WSMR. Blas L. Molina Jr., 88, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. NM. He was born March 13, 1920 in Las Cruces to Blas and Antonia Lujan Molina. Blas was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II as a Tech. Sgt. He also retired after many years of faithful service from WSMR. He liked gambling and playing bingo, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son Jessie Molina and wife Corina of Albuquerque, NM; daughters Christine Lopez and husband Manuel of Las Cruces and Lorraine Benavidez and husband Carmel of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Tillie Nevarez and Natalia Duran both of Las Cruces; grandchildren Michael, Raymond, Tomas, Mateo, Twyla, Vannesa and Sonny. Also surviving Blas are his great-grandchildren Marisa, James, Amaris, Naomi and Sonny Jr. and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Blas was preceded in death by his loving wife Oufelia Molina and by his brother and sisters. A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM today Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home with a rosary and funeral mass to follow at 1:00 PM at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Narciso Rivera officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Blas's grandchildren. PDF Printable Version
