Bob L. Abbott, 77, of Las Cruces, NM died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born January 26, 1930 in Archer City, Texas to Jobe and Lottie Abbott. He had owned and operated A & B Electric Motors in Alamogordo from 1958 to 1973. He then moved to Las Cruces and owned and operated Turner Electric Motor. Bob L. Abbott, 77, of Las Cruces, NM died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born January 26, 1930 in Archer City, Texas to Jobe and Lottie Abbott. He had owned and operated A & B Electric Motors in Alamogordo from 1958 to 1973. He then moved to Las Cruces and owned and operated Turner Electric Motor. Bob also served as past Squad Commander of the Civil Air Patrol. He is survived by his wife Libby of the family home; one son Edward J. Vent and wife Maria of Las Cruces; three daughters, Sandy Ostic and husband Edmund of Las Cruces; Susan Ponds and husband Ric of Phoenix, AZ; and Joyce Guthrie of Las Cruces. Also surviving Bob is his brother Tom Abbott of El Paso, TX; his Aunt Reubene Scott of Aledo, TX; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. One son, Bob Edd Abbott, preceded him in death. At Bob's request cremation has taken place and a Graveside Funeral service will take place at 9 AM on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
