Calvin Fisher passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on January 11, 2022. He was born July 5, 1930, in Seminole, OK to Caleb & Gladys Fisher.

Calvin graduated from Charlestown High School in Indiana. He won Varsity letters in every sport the school offered, he also set the schools long jump record. After graduation he sighed a professional baseball contract and played until the Korean War started. In 1950 in enlisted in the US Air Force. While he was a distinguished Airman he was also known for his athletic talents helping his unit to win several basketball and baseball championships. He received an honorable discharge January 1954.

He was awarded the National Defense and Good Conduct Medals. He decided not to pursue his professional baseball career after his discharge. He then went back to Indiana, where he met his wife Netty and her children, Sharyn and Terry. They had another child Wesley and were married for 53 years. Cal went to work for the US Government in their missle program. The job sent him to several technical schools, so the family lived in multiple states in the Southwest, finally settling in Las Cruces where he worked at White Sands Missle Range as a radar technician. Cal received a commemorative medallion from Frank Borman for his part in the first manned Lunar Flight. In July of 1969 he received a letter of thanks from NASA for his work on the Apollo II program. Cal was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Las Cruces Country Club where he won several club championships. After that course closed he remained an active friend and golfer at several other golf courses in the area and was still playing to a single handicap when he became to ill to play.

But most importantly, Cal was a proud Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, brother and Uncle. He was a role model for his children and grandchildren instilling in them the value of hard work, honesty and love of family.

Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Netty, sons Terry and Wesley, brothers Jack and Wesley, sisters Tommy Overfield, and Evalee White and great granddaughter Cari Joyce Brown.

Cal is survived by his daughter Sharyn Brown (Walter), brother Bob Fisher (Astrid), grandsons Steve Brown (Jana), Jason Buchanan (Hayley), Joey Buchanan (Amy), great grandchildren Amber and Jasper Brown, Jayden and Chase Buchanan,

Joey and Eastyn Buchanan, nephews, Glenn Overfield and family, Dick Overfield (Jean).
