Carlos Y. Banegas passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the age of 92. He was born in Dona Ana, NM on April 27, 1914. He retired from WSMR as a maintenance supervisor after 20 years of loyal service. Carlos Y. Banegas passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the age of 92. He was born in Dona Ana, NM on April 27, 1914. He retired from WSMR as a maintenance supervisor after 20 years of loyal service. Prior to this, throughout his younger years he was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and later did construction work. Mr. Banegas will be forever deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two sons Leo and wife Josie and Bobby, all of Las Cruces; grandsons Lenny, Michael and Jamie; granddaughter Felicia; great-grandson LJ; sisters Susie Carrier and Cecilia Zarate and by many nieces and nephews. Carlos was preceded in death by his wife Maggie; brothers Lorenzo, Candelario and Willie; sisters Ester Barela and Adelina Ornelas. A Funeral Service to celebrate Mr. Banegas will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home with Jimmy Navarro officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lenny, Michael and Jamie Banegas, Gary, Justin and Jonathan Butler.
