Carlota Quintela Flores of Las Cruces, New Mexico went to her heavenly home on October 3, 2021. She was born on January 27, 1930, in Malaga, New Mexico to Esteban and Guadalupe Duran Quintela. Carlota was raised in Loving, New Mexico. She married Antonio (Tony) Flores and they relocated to Las Cruces with their children. Carlota worked at the Detention Center and often accompanied (Deputy) CPL Tony Flores when transporting individuals to Santa Fe and Las Vegas. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, cooking, tending to her garden, traveling, and dancing. Carlota was strong in her faith, she attended mass regularly, read her bible and recited the holy rosary every day. She would pray for anyone and everyone. She was a Communicant at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, a member of the Choir, the Guadalupanas and De Colores. Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral on October 25, 2021. Viewing is at 9:30 a.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
