Carnell L Cutler

Carnell Linton Cutler was born into this world on September 28, 1921. She rejoined the love of her life, her husband, Charles Preston Cutler on April 6, 2013. Carnell was born in Rosebud, Arkansas to Ada Plant Linton and Dionysius Linton. She moved to Las Cruces when she was five years old with her parents, four older brothers and older sister. She met Charles, her military man, at Fort Bliss and they were married shortly thereafter on April 24, 1943. Their love and devotion to each other was unsurpassed and lasted for fifty four wonderful years. They were a source of inspiration for everyone who knew them. She was a graduate of New Mexico State University earning a degree in Elementary Education. She taught second and fourth grade for seventeen years at Valley View Elementary School. Carnell and Charlie loved to host card parties and get togethers for all of their friends and family. She played bridge with her closest friends every week and was a member of the Progress Club and a longtime Auxiliary volunteer at Memorial Medical Center. She and Charlie enjoyed many wonderful vacations together. They especially enjoyed their trips to Europe and Mexico and going on cruises with their friends and family. Once grandchildren came along, Friday nights were very special and became family time at their house. They truly enjoyed this new chapter of their lives. Carnell is survived by her two daughters, Julia Jeanette Delzer (Terry), and Carole Anne Bierck (Wynne). Her four grandchildren, Toby Delzer and Michael Delzer, both of Las Cruces, Kristen Vallery Roybal (Miguel) of Tucson, AZ, and Katherine (Katie) Amanda Gurule (Matt) of Las Cruces. She has three great-grandchildren, Alexis Elaine Delzer of Las Cruces, Riley Charles Roybal of Tucson, AZ, and Aubrey Anne Gurule of Las Cruces. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Meklas, of Las Cruces, sister-in-law, Bonnie Linton of Colorado, nephews, Thomas Linton, Alan Linton, nieces, Nancy Eaton, Cynthia Fowler, Konnie Meline, Elizabeth Stafford, and Sue Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents, Dionysius and Ada, and her four brothers, Floyd, Melvy, Hersell, and Dionysius (D.T.), nephew, Donnie Linton, niece, Elizabeth Davison, sisters-in-law Jewel Linton, Clara Linton, Lena Ruth Linton and brother- in-law Johnny Meklas. The family would like to thank the staff of The Heritage for their outstanding care and commitment during her stay there. We would also like to thank the staff of Mesilla Valley Hospice for always being so kind and dedicated to Carnell. Funeral services will be held at University United Methodist Church, 2000 S Locust, Las Cruces at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev.
