Carol A. Rogers, 78, of Las Cruces, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday Feb. 28, 2012. She was born May 31, 1933 in Raton, NM to John and Beatrice Chittick. As a graduate of New Mexico State University, she was a member of Zeta-Tau-Alpha Fraternity and President during her last year of college. Three of her granddaughters; Serena, Mary and Michelle are now following her legacy. Carol was a fun loving, kind and compassionate person with a smile that could light up a room. She enjoyed raising her children and participating in their many activities including being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and a Troop Leader for the Brownies. Carol was a founding member of the Las Cruces Junior League. She worked side-by-side in Santa Fe with her husband, while he served as a State Senator, participating as an active member in a "Senator's Wives" club. Carol and Jimmy were fortunate to have been able to travel and see the world through their many cruises. Her summers in Ruidoso brought much enjoyment, as did going to the Sunland Park Race Track and Casino, but her greatest passion was for her family. Mrs. Rogers will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years James J. Rogers of the family home; sons John M. Rogers and fianc
