Carolyn E. Bricker was born on a farm in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania and attended a country school in small town of Boggsville, Pa. In early childhood came to New Mexico with her parents, Walter E. and Charlotte (Dolly) Bricker, and sister Sylva and settled in Las Cruces in 1929. After graduating from Las Cruces Union High School she took a Commerce course. Some years later she attended El Paso Technical Institute, also a course with the American Institute of Banking. She began her working years as a student librarian at the Branigan Memorial Library and was later named Assistant Librarian, a position held for six years. She resigned from the library to accept a position with The First National Bank of Dona Ana County as a bookkeeper and later to customer accounts department until her retirement after 34 years. The New Mexico Bankers Association honored Carolyn Bricker with a membership in the New Mexico Bankers Association 25 year Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church since childhood. Also a member of Westminster Guild I, was Guild Chairman and Treasurer, 1930. She was a member of the Session and held the position of Church Treasurer; member of Auditing Committee; also served the church as Deacon; member of Desert Crussier; member of 4-H Clubs; member of the Business and Professional Woman's Club
