Cathy was born on July 11, 1936, in El Paso, Texas to John Thomas and Pansy Minor “Mickey” Good Thomas. Cathy grew up in Hondo Valey, NM and attended Hondo High School.

Cathy was born on July 11, 1936, in El Paso, Texas to John Thomas and Pansy Minor “Mickey” Good Thomas. Cathy grew up in Hondo Valey, NM and attended Hondo High School.


She married John “JC” Ford on January 23, 1955, in Hurley, NM they moved to las cruces where they made their home for many years.


Cathy was secretary for her family’s ranch corporation in Lincoln, NM, her greatest joy in life was taking care of JC and their son Frank “Pancho” Ford.


Surviving Cathy are son Frank and partner Mary Christine Koller of Las Cruces, sister Fran Armstrong, Littleton, CO, Brothers John Thomas II. Belen, NM and Stanley Good Thomas and wife Debbie, Glencoe, NM, Sisters-in-law Darlene Hailer, Barbara Hagan, and Wanda Dodson.


Also surviving Cathy are many nieces and nephews that she loved and guided through the years: long-time friends Darrell and Martha Ash, Sara and Geoff Georgi, Stephanie and Michael Nunez and son Greyson. She will be missed by her caregiver Ophelia Saldana.


She was preceded in death by her loving husband, JC, sister Virginia “Ginger” Murray Sisters-in-law Joyce Thomas and Erma Cole, brothers-in-law Jack Armstrong, Tom Murray, Jimmy Cole, George Hailer, Charlie Hagan and Donald Dodson.


Cathy was the rock of her family and loved by all who knew her. She took care of and guided so many that they ventured though life. Many visited with Cathy in the days before her death to thank her for all her love and support in their lives. It was a terrible windy day, but on the night that Cathy peacefully passed the wind stopped and those with her felt stillness and peacefulness in their surroundings. She is loved and will be missed by so many.


No services are scheduled and per her wishes cremation has taken place. Her ashes will be buried in the family plot in Silver City, NM.
