Cecilia M. Mills (Acosta), 79 of Las Cruces, NM died Monday December 22, 2008. She was born in San Miguel NM on April 21, 1929. As a young teenager she taught catechism and helped with different church events. Her biggest joy in life was her grand and great grandkids. She loved hearing them talk, laugh and run around her home. She loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting in her younger years. An avid rock hound, she really enjoyed looking for arrowheads and had quite a collection. Mom lived in Aklea Flats where there is nothing but dessert and with her passion for gardening, she turned her home into a beautiful oasis, with all types of tress, plants and flowers. She enjoyed spending lots of hours tending her yard. She had many talents besides her green thumb and she loved crafting art, from any type of material that was on hand. She was a visionary who would transfer her vision into different articles from gourds, wood, paper and rocks. Thou through her life she went through a lot of trails and tribulations, her faith in God and the Virgin Mary never wavered but grew stronger. Her greatest gift to all her kids, nieces and nephews was her faith and love of God and the Virgin Mary. She lived by example of keeping the faith and praying. She showed us that we too can have the peace she had in her heart, she taught us that through prayer and faith all can be endured.
