Celia M. Tellez, 78, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009. She was born April 24, 1930 in Hill, NM to Demecio and Delfina Telles Madrid. Celia was a member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church and was very involved with the Sacred Heart League where she worked faithfully. Celia M. Tellez, 78, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009. She was born April 24, 1930 in Hill, NM to Demecio and Delfina Telles Madrid. Celia was a member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church and was very involved with the Sacred Heart League where she worked faithfully. She had a love for arts and crafts but her passion was for her family. Mrs. Tellez will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Augustin Tellez of the family home; sons Jack Tellez and wife Yvonne and Gene Tellez and wife Sylvia all of Las Cruces; daughter Mickey Rosales and husband Rick of Dona Ana, NM; brother Jimmy Madrid and wife Luz of Las Cruces; sisters Gloria Rodriguez and husband Jesse of California and Aurora Benavidez and husband Chilo of Alamogordo, NM. Also surviving her are her grandchildren Ida, Michelle, Brenda, Ricky Joe, Meciah, Benjamin, Joshua, Jaden, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her two sisters Angie Wagner and Corina Villa preceded Celia in death. A prayer vigil and memorial mass to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with the Augustinian Recollects officiating.
