Charles George Clark, 67, a longtime resident of Las Cruces, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008, after an extended illness. Charles is survived by his wife, Cathy (Mary Catherine Busby Clark) of Las Cruces; and his children: Susy and Mike Fry & grandson Michael of Las Cruces; Sarah Rich, Vacaville, CA; David and Angela Borowik, Las Vegas, NV; and Alex Rader and granddaughter Sierra Gwinn, Poway, CA; brother David Clark & Melissa Milligan Hobbs, NM, & Cannon; Benn Clark with Jessica, Tyler, Austin, and Alyssa-Beth of Hobbs; Donald Rader, Poway, CA Seomi Lightfoot, Temecula CA; Harold and Estelle Fry, Las Cruces, NM; Jerry and Wanda Clark, Lubbock, TX; Bob and Jan Clark and Children, TX; Jo and Ralph Gorder and Children, Anchorage, Alaska; many beloved friends; and Sophie, Bethe, and Barkis.He was preceded in death by parents Charles G. and Eydie (Edith Elizabeth Vandagriff Clark) of Littlefield, TX; Lovington, NM; and Las Cruces, NM; and so many other beloved family members and friends. Charles was a life member of the National Rifle Association; a life member New Mexico Shooting Sports Association; and a charter member of New Mexico Association of Hunter Education Instructors. Charles was born on February 24, 1941, in Littlefield, TX. He attended schools in Littlefield, Artesia, and Carlsbad, New Mexico. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1959 and was awarded a National Merit Scholarship. He lettered in tennis and participated in band, football, and many other activities. Scouting was an important part of Charles' life. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of The Order of the Arrow, and an adult scouting volunteer. He attended UNM and NMSU. Charles and his family moved to Las Cruces in 1969. He loved Las Cruces and the Organ Mountains and chose to stay the rest of his life here. He traveled joyfully with Cathy, his daughter Susy and friends throughout much of the USA, Mexico, and Central America
