Charles P. McLean, 86, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on March 11, 2016. He was born on January 7, 1930 in Boston, MA to the late Emma D. Theriault and Harold T. McLean. He graduated from Mount St. Charles Academy in 1947 in Woonsocket, Providence, Rhode Island. He later earned his PhD from New Mexico State University and taught at the Dona Ana Branch of NMSU. Charles P. McLean, 86, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on March 11, 2016. He was born on January 7, 1930 in Boston, MA to the late Emma D. Theriault and Harold T. McLean. He graduated from Mount St. Charles Academy in 1947 in Woonsocket, Providence, Rhode Island. He later earned his PhD from New Mexico State University and taught at the Dona Ana Branch of NMSU. Charles was also a retired Colonel from the United Stated Army. Charles was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter #555 in Las Cruces, NM and of the Professional "Young Eagles." He was also inducted into the El Paso Aviation Hall of Fame in 1999. Charles was the beloved husband of Jacqueline M. McLean of Las Cruces, NM. Loving father of Mark A. McLean if Surprise, AZ, Kevin McLean of Indianapolis, IN, Donna M. McLean of Seward, AK, Karen A. LaBonte of Merrimack, NH, Kim A Statler of Derry, NH, Sean T. McLean of Soldnta, Ak, Bryan J. McLean of Chugiak, AK, and Mary K. Beck of Las Cruces, NM. Brother of the late Arthur McLean, Harlod McLean, Eleanor O'Brien, Gertrude McLean, and John T. McLean. Beloved grandfather of Keith and Steven LaBonte of Merrimack, NH, Emily, Victoria, and Matthew Statler of Derry, NH, Isabella and Callum McLean of AK, and great grandpa to Joseph Statler of NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Viewing for Charles will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to follow at 7 pm. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 also at Getz Funeral Home.
