Rick Cox, 57, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011. He was born July 23, 1954 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Clayton and Martha Burrows Cox. Rick had been with the New Mexico Motor Transportation Division for 16 years, a Deputy Officer with the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department for three years and also a member of the Mounted Patrol. Rick Cox, 57, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011. He was born July 23, 1954 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Clayton and Martha Burrows Cox. Rick had been with the New Mexico Motor Transportation Division for 16 years, a Deputy Officer with the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department for three years and also a member of the Mounted Patrol. He enjoyed the outdoors, and flying hot air balloons with Flying Ace Hot Air Balloon Team. Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Cox of the family home;step- sons Tyler and Colton Sims; brother Steven Cox, sister Kathy Arnold and by his nephew Robby. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home with Chaplain Conant Carr officiating.
