Charlotte Delgado passed away after a long illness on December 31, 2021. She was born to Tillman and Ola McLendon, on May 13, 1927, in Blaney, South Carolina. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 58 years Isidro M. Delgado (Sid). She is preceded in death by two sisters: May and Beatrice, two brothers, James and Happy. She was also preceded in death by two children a daughter, Gayle Scott (Doug) and son Thomas (Carol). Charlotte is survived by one son Robert Delgado (Jennifer deceased). Charlotte lived a fruitful and happy life. Along with her husband Sid, she lived to see and enjoy seven grandchildren - Thomas (Kari), Lori Ann (Richard), Jennifer (Friend David), Brian (Lea), Mackenzie, Robert Jr, and Mike. The joy of her life were seven great grandchildren Brandon and Kenna Delgado, Harper and Gavin Scott, Richard Grainger, Joseph Scalza, and Jordan Gore. She was raised as a Baptist but converted to the Catholic faith (the faith of her husband, Sid). She was an all-American girl, proud of her Irish ancestry. Charlotte was a faithful participant at St Genevieve's Catholic Church. She taught RCIA for more than 10 years and many of her students became lifelong friends. She was an excellent cook and prepared cakes and chicken for various church activities and fundraisers. She was highly talented in crafts producing beautiful pieces with yarn, needlepoint and paint. She also collected and refurbished antique furniture which were used in her home. Charlotte was a compassionate person towards the poor and people in need of help. Along with her husband, they supported various charities and religious organizations. Her Christian faith led her to help people in need. Charlotte remembered that in her early childhood when she was five years of age her father passed away causing her mother to be a single parent, to raise her four children by relocating to Winnsboro, South Carolina to seek work to feed her family. Above all, Charlotte was a deeply religious person, who trusted in the Lord and always prayed for her family and friends each morning and evening as she completed each day of her life. Charlotte was the treasure of her husband and family. We will miss her greatly!! Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 12, 2022, at St Genevieve's Catholic Church, 101 North Espina.
