Cherryl Sue Smith

Cherryl Sue Smith, 63, of Las Cruces, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. She was born Nov. 27, 1948 in Ravenna, Ohio to Lester and Violet Gauding. Cherryl had worked for P.S.L. at New Mexico State University with many years of faithful service. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, arts and crafts, sewing and reading but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Cherryl is survived by her son Jason Smith and wife Sherryl and her daughter Janeen Jansen all of Las Cruces; mother Violet Gauding of Ohio; brothers Lester Harland Gauding and wife Phyllis of Ohio and Dennis Gauding and wife Alice of Pennsylvania; sister Wendy Lyon and husband Tom of Florida. Also surviving her are her two grandchildren Lynn and Jacob. At her request cremation will take place and memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
