She was born September 28, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia; the oldest daughter to Norris and Alice Crawford. Cheryl Anne Cretin of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the age of 69. She was born September 28, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia; the oldest daughter to Norris and Alice Crawford. Cheryl graduated from the University of New York, College of Geneseo in 1968 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began her long career working for the Department of Defense in Civil Service at Fort Wainwright, Alaska with relocations to Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Rock Island, Illinois; Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona, and Edwards Air Force Base, California. She retired from White Sands, New Mexico in 2007 where she received numerous honors and awards throughout her thirty-year career to include: 2004 Most Influential Women of White Sands and The Combined Federal Campaign Award for 2003, 2004, and 2005. Cheryl continued working after retirement as an operations manager with VZ Technologies in Las Cruces until her death. Her selfless and generous nature will be the legacy she leaves behind, as well as her children who will miss her dearly. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Martin Cretin of 33 years and her five children: Richard Puckett, Mica Hoeltge, Mark Puckett, Daniel Cretin, and Jeffrey Cretin; four grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, and her siblings Phyllis Hopper and Nancy Pilbeam. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth Crawford. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Getz Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
